In the blogging world, traffic is one of the most important factors ( if not the most important after hitting the publish button) any blogger needs to make reasonable money on their blog.

Traffic from Google SEO has not been stable for some bloggers due to continual algorithm updates from the search engine.

Not only that, but some bloggers are not technically savvy and can’t understand the fundamentals of search engine optimization, much less advanced ones.

If you belong to this section, you should try out Pinterest as an alternative or complementary platform for making money on your blog.

Pinterest is also a search engine platform that differs from Google because it deals majorly with IMAGES. It is like the image version of Google.

On the Pinterest platform, “image is king”, unlike Google where “content is king”. Bloggers usually source and create suitable images that depict the user’s search interest.

After this brief introduction, let’s delve into what today’s content is all about.

I will share with you a step-by-step tutorial on how you can use an AI platform ( IDEOGRAM) to create a HIGH CONVERTING pin that will enable you to drive traffic to your blog seamlessly so that you can earn from your site, be it through ad monetization or affiliate marketing.

Ideogram is a text-to-image platform. I have tried other free text-to-image platforms like Microsoft Design Image Maker, ChatGPT 4, Bing Image Maker, etc and I can boldly say ideogram is the best out there for creating converting pins on Pinterest.

You can easily edit the size of the image to fit your desired frame, add text overlay on your pin with ease, and lots more.

Most user on Pinterest use the platform to get inspiration or ideas for their search interest.

We can leverage this by creating suitable images that depict their search interest and take them to our site where we would have created an ultimate guide on the keyword.

Bonus tips: In most cases, Pinterest users are more concerned about images, and not really that type of audience interested in the long form of word content. They want images or videos that can inspire them for their next project.

For instance, someone searching for bedroom decor ideas on Pinterest is not looking for a 15,000-word count blog post on home decor but images of beautiful bedroom spaces. ( I hope you are getting it now )

To get images that depict what the user is looking for can be daunting sometimes, since there are issues of copyrights and sometimes we might see little images that are copyright-free on a particular keyword. That’s where IDEOGRAM COMES.

How to make money on your blog using Pinterest and Ideogram

For this blog post, let us assume the blog is in the home decor niche.

1. I will do keyword research in the “Pinterest trend” section on Pinterest.

Tick the “Growing trend” section, then choose the interest ( mine is home decor, so I will tick it; yours might be fashion, art, women’s fashion, etc).

It will show trending topics that people are searching for in your niche in the last 30 days; starting from your end date.

Now select any of these keywords; let’s assume I chose “bedroom decor ideas”.

2. The next thing is to head on to ideogram to create images of bedroom decor ideas.

You can use my prompt:

“Create a visually appealing and scroll-stopping image perfect for Pinterest. The image should be clean, bright, and eye-catching, with an aesthetic that suits BEDROOM DECOR IDEAS”.

Use soft colors, and attractive composition, and ensure there’s space for overlay text if needed. Make it engaging and shareable.”

Immediately it will create 40 free images for you ( the free version allows for 40 images per day). I think 20-30 images are enough for a blog post.

3. Then write a blog post on bedroom decor ideas while taking note of the related interests that were highlighted while you were searching for this topic.

You can add these related topics to the blog write-up as h2 or h3 tags.

4. The remaining images 10 images should be specifically created along the Pinterest user experience for it to get you outbound clicks (that’s traffic to your site.)

You can do this in two ways:

A. You can use the previous prompt but instruct it to add some text overlay on the images. e.g. “bedroom decor ideas”, “20 best bedroom decor ideas”, “the ultimate guide for bedroom decor ideas” and lots more.

B. You can download the “best-performing pins on Pinterest.” I know you might want to ask how I know the best-performing pins”?

Well, you can discover this manually by searching the keyword on Pinterest without logging in; that is log out and search the keyword or better still open a new Chrome profile or search on a new browser that you don’t have your Pinterest account logged in to see the best-performing pins.

After downloading it, upload the image in Chat GPT telling it to describe the image for you. Insert the description into the ideogram and tell it to create images that fit the description. You can also add that it should add some text overlay.

You might be wondering why I am keen on text overlay on pins. Well, they are the best way to get outbound clicks to your site. Most people have high saves, likes, and shares without having traffic to their site.

So since we want to make money on our blog, we need the traffic coming to our site as much as we like the saved and likes that push our pins to more users.

MY RESULT ON THE IDEOGRAM

5. Create pins like this on a relevant board from time to time so that the search engine can distribute your content to more users.

This means you can keep uploading pins on former content from time to time. You shouldn’t stop creating pins on your old content even after writing new content.

6. You can use the chat GPT to create the description and title of the pins.

7. Rinse and repeat this guideline and you will see your traffic increase. With traffic coming in you can now determine how you want to monetize your blog; it can be through affiliate marketing ( selling a product) or ad monetization.

A good thing about Pinterest traffic is that they are mostly from top tier 1 countries which translates to high RPM if it is Adsense or a high conversion rate if it is affiliate marketing.
